Analytes - vitamin D3
Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol): CAS No. 67-97-0, C27H44O, molecular weight 384.62, melting point 84-85°C, vapor pressure 0.00mm Hg at 25°C, non flammable, water insoluble is a white crystalline solid. It is an essential nutrient that acts to maintain normal concentrations of calcium and phosphate in plasma by facilitating their absorption by the small intestine, to enhance their mobilization from bone and to decrease their excretion by the kidney. Vitamin D3 occurs in fish liver oil and is formed from sterols in the skin by exposure to UV rays in sunlight. It is most frequently measured in food, plasma and urine using, colorimetric and spectrophotometric methods as well as by reversed phase HPLC.
