Analytes - chloroform

chloroform: CAS No. 67-66-3, CHCl3, molecular weight 119.38, boiling point 61.2°C, density 1.48gm/mL, vapor pressure 197mm Hg at 25°C, flash point none, autoignition temperature none, slightly water soluble is a colorless liquid used in the manufacture of HCFC-22, monochlorodifluoromethane, a refrigerant, as a raw material for polytetrafluoroethylene plastics, as a solvent for coating compositions of urea or melamine resins and for preparations of lubricant additives and plasticizers; surface-active agents, rubber chemicals, and as a cleansing agent. It is also produced as a byproduct of drinking water chlorination. It is most frequently measured in water, air and soil to comply with environmental regulations. Due to its volatility, it is most often measured using GC/PID, ECD, ELCD and GC/MS methods specified by regulatory agencies like the U.S. EPA.
