The slopes (the standard energy contribution of one methylene group,  and half the intercept (the contribution from one terminal methyl groups, ) is now plotted against the reciprocal of the absolute temperature to determine the standard enthalpy and standard entropy of the dispersive interaction of the methyl and methylene groups with the stationary phase. The curves obtained are shown in figure 9.
